About AWA HOUSING

AWA Housing Co-operative Society Limited was established as an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization by a handful of Abagusii men of goodwill in the 1960s to overcome challenges that faced them. The organization was formally registered in 1975 as “AWA Housing Co-operative Society Limited” with the core objective being aiding and uplifting the standards of living among the Abagusii community in Mombasa, particularly in social, cultural, educational, health, and economic matters.

As a welfare group, it was an exclusive welfare association for Abagusii across Mombasa County. Out of the need to have an investment vehicle that would create a profitable platform for its members to purchase land affordably, AWA Housing Co-operative Society Limited was officially registered in 2018 and started its land purchasing ventures in 2021.

Having originally drawn its members from the Abagusii community and limited to the same, AWA Housing Co-operative Society Limited opened its doors to members from all communities in Kenya in 2022. Today, the co-operative society is committed to offering affordable and well-planned land investment opportunities to its members and the general public.
